Fleet Road Review starts soon

Hampshire Highways will be conducting a review of the Fleet Road improvements over the next few weeks to determine the impact on the town since the works were completed a year ago. The review will seek to gather information from all the town's stakeholders.

In part the review will comprise an on-street questionnaire which is expected to be carried out in early June. Other aspects that will be looked at include the effect of the improvements on traffic counts and the town's footfall figures. The review will look at street parking issues including concerns over the loading bay signage. Officers from Hampshire Highways will collate all the information gathered to during the review with the aim of presenting a final report on the improvements, along with any recommendations for changes, in August.

Fleet's Town Centre Manager, Paul Doughty will be co-ordinating with both Hart District and Hampshire County officers to ensure that the review does include the views of all stakeholders. Notes Doughty, “I am very pleased that Hampshire Highways are seeking to be proactive and will be undertaking an on-street questionnaire to help arrive at sensible conclusions for Fleet.”
