Healthy Workplace Award Scheme

Hart Council has teamed up with its partners to promote healthy workplace environments in the District.

Working with Hampshire Primary Care Trust, and the North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Hart Council has devised a bronze, silver and gold grading system by which an employers' commitment to a healthy working environment can be assessed.

The award scheme is designed to promote health and wellbeing and to recognise those organisations working to improve the health of their employees.

The focus is on health and safety, healthy eating, physical activity, smoking and stress.

To receive an Award, a panel of health experts will review each organisation's submission together with comments from employees who will be encouraged to provide direct feedback on the effectiveness of the health initiatives. This makes the scheme the perfect tool for organisations wishing to engage their employees on health awareness issues.

So far five applications have been received from businesses based in Hart District and would like to invite further applications from as many businesses and organisations as possible.

The deadline for receiving applications has been extended to the end of May 07.

A prestigious Award Ceremony will be held at sponsor Four Seasons' Dogmersfield Park Hotel, in Hampshire. Other sponsors include Frimley Park Hospital and Cardionetics Ltd, a local software solutions company.
