Two people charged over Church Crookham house fire

A mother and her son have been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at a home in Church Crookham, Fleet which took place in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

A mother and her nine year old daughter escaped injury after they were forced to jump from a bedroom window. A spokesperson for the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said that a fire alarm fitted to the home, saved the lives of the mother and her daughter.

Christine Chivers, 41, and her son Kyle, 19, from Oaken Copse Crescent, Farnborough, were charged in connection with the fire. Two 16-year-old boys, from Farnborough and Camberley, and a 20-year-old man from Aldershot have been bailed pending further inquiries.
