Fleet Road paving temporary removal

9th May 2007

The reconstruction work at the former Jumbo Electrical stores in Fleet Road will involve temporary disruption to the pavement starting from today, 26 April 2007.

All of the paving stones in way of the area will be lifted and steel plates laid down to allow machinery access to the site.
To prevent slippage the steel plates will be overlaid with a temporary surface of tarmac.

Once the works have been completed the contractors are required to remove all materials and restore the pavement to its original condition.
